We finally got to see our custom 2 Octave Utile Xylosynth on stage at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith, London. Such a talented group of performers. Hats off to Yuri Yamashita for flawless playing while carrying at least 6kgs around on stage and making it look effortless. Completely wireless setup using a MIDIjet and USB powerbank. I noticed Yuri was using different mallets for different songs during the set and it will be interesting to ask her the reasons for this. Other musicians in picture are Ray Suen, Daniel Mintseris and of course David Byrne.
The lightweight and stable African hardwood, called Utile, used for this instrument, is now used on all our hardwood instruments instead of Bubinga. Because the Xylosynth has natural wooden keys (not just in Utile, also Blonde Birch and Stained Birch) and is aesthetically beautiful it is the go to instument for professional bands and players worldwide. Being able to access multiple instrument sounds with the push of a button or foot pedal adds to the creative possibilities.

Why Wernick?
I'm now a freelance sound engineer and a professional musician. I play with two bands (2 french singers) and I always play the Xylosynth with one of them; David Keler. I love playing the Xylosynth, and everyone in the band and the audience like it. David Keler asked me to have it on every gig! Sometimes I have some questions about it, and I ask people to contact you.
