3 octave (F-F) Dimensions: 4'x14.2"x3"

Where does the Xylosynth fit in the field of percussion?
For the touring musician the Xylosynth is easily transported to gigs but the solid wood bars mean there is no compromise on playability or looks. The four octave version folds in half and can fit in any car. The three octave is light enough to carry around in a soft bag.

Marching Bands or drumlines have started using the Xylosynth, mainly indoors. However, outside, the Xylosynth bars do not loose their integrity or pitch in the sunshine and it is the only midi mallet controller that can be used outdoors (obviously not in the pouring rain).

For large outdoor stage events where using microphones is difficult and the results uneven due to rushing air and stomping feet the Xylosynth maybe the only solution. The Safri Duo continue to play to thousands of people at outdoor events worldwide with two 4 octave Xylosynths.

The Xylosynth enables composers and musicians to access unique sounds. Our endorsee Joby Burgess is currently playing Kraftwerk and Steve Reich pieces on the Xylosynth which as a percussionist he could not perform without this instrument.

Some acoustic instruments are hard to get hold of. The Swedish Philharmonic required three octaves of wood blocks and hired a Xlyosynth from Preissler Percussion for the job.

If space is restricted in musical productions and you need instant access to several instruments such as marimba, vibe and timpani the Xylosynth can provide an ideal solution. Simple programming of your sound source means you can change from Marimba to Glock to Xylophone at the touch of a foot pedal. For example the Cameron Mackintosh production of Miss Saigaon used a Xylosynth to reproduce 25 different instruments in a single performance.

The student in education can practice in relative peace and quiet in any environment such as a student bedroom or music room using headphones. The instrument can be packed and placed out of the way in a minute. Height adjustment is instant using any keyboard X stand.

Endorsee News

British percussionist Joby Burgess is using his 'Blond Ash Key' 3 Octave Mark 6 Xylosynth as the centre piece of his new project Powerplant. Exploring hi-octane percussion-led music with an electronic sound and strong visual performance, Joby uses his own samples on a G4 laptop, to perform music by Steve Reich and Kraftwerk.

'Electric Counterpoint had a slouching, sun-filled energy; like a sudden breath of California from this quintessential New York composer.' The Daily Telegraph

'No strangers to the weirder reaches of electronica, the steely Teutonic shimmies of Kraftwerk at their best take on a whole new dimension in such capable hands.' The Metro, London
